Amino acids

Amino acids are chemical compounds that form long chains and form the basic structure of proteins. They are found in all living organisms and perform numerous important functions in the human body. The body can produce some of the amino acids itself; these are therefore referred to as non-essential. The essential amino acids, on the other hand, cannot be produced independently and must be taken in regularly through food.

Tested substances: GABA, L-alanine, L-arginine, L-asparagine, L-citrulline, L-cysteineL-glutamine, L-histidine, L-isoleucine, L-leucine, L-lysine, L-methionine, L-ornithine, L-phenylalanine, L-proline, L-serine, L-threonine, L-tryptophan, L-tyrosine, L-valine, L-glutathione, L-theanine, Creatine, glycine

Vitamins & Vitaminoids

Vitamins are organic compounds and, unlike other nutrients, vitamins do not provide energy. They are substances that the body cannot synthesize itself (with the exception of vitamin D). They are therefore considered essential for humans as they must be taken in with food. Vitaminoids are vitamin-like substances that comprise a range of different substances and metabolites. They were all initially assigned to the group of vitamins until it was discovered that the body can synthesize them itself. They therefore belong to the group of conditionally essential nutrients.
Tested substances: Vit A, Vit B5, Vit B7, Vit D, Vit E, Vit K2, Vit B1, Vit B12, Vit B2, Vit B3, Vit B6, Vit B9, Vit C, Choline, Coenzyme Q10, Inositol, L-Carnitine, Taurine, Alpha-Lipoic acid, Vit B15 (Pangamic acid), Vit B10 (PABA), inositol¹, Vit K1¹

Enzymes

Enzymes are complex protein molecules that act as “accelerators” (also known as biocatalysts) of biochemical reactions and metabolic processes in the human body. This means that they accelerate biochemical reactions by reducing the necessary activation energy.

Tested substances: Bromelain, papain, pepsin, nattokinase¹

Secondary plant substances

Secondary plant substances are natural chemical compounds in plants that are not essential nutrients. They are formed during plant metabolism and influence the color, aroma and taste of fruit, vegetables and herbs, among other things. These diverse compounds can be responsible for the bright colors of berries or peppers, for example. They are often found in the outer layers, skins and leaves, which is why it can make sense to prepare plant-based foods as freshly and gently as possible.

Minerals

Minerals are essential nutrients that must be taken in with food and that the human body needs for numerous functions. Minerals are divided into bulk and trace elements. Bulk elements are present in the body in relatively large quantities, whereas trace elements are only present in small quantities.

What are Food Reactions Micronutrient Needs?

Many people observe that they react individually to certain ingredients in food or to environmental factors. At the same time, personal needs for vitamins, minerals, and trace elements vary – influenced by factors such as diet, lifestyle, or age. By consciously observing one’s own nutrition, individual needs can be addressed more specifically.

Food, Substances & Micronutrients in Everyday Life

A conscious supply of micronutrients and a mindful approach to food can help to achieve individual nutritional goals. A balanced diet promotes natural bodily processes and can help to reduce personal reactions to certain foods.

An adequate supply of micronutrients such as B vitamins and magnesium can support normal mental function. At the same time, many people find it pleasant to consciously choose foods and avoid those to which they react individually.

By continuously observing your eating habits, you can become more aware of how your body reacts to certain foods and which nutrition is individually suitable for you. This way, you can succeed in adjusting your diet to your personal needs in the long term and promote your general everyday well-being.

10-20% report having intolerances up to 60% could be insufficiently supplied with nutrients.

According to Publication NDR Article Harvard Study ²

In the winter months, experts often recommend paying particular attention to an adequate supply of vitamin D, as many people may have an increased need during this time.

At the same time, individual reactions to foods or substances often go unnoticed, as they can manifest through non-specific sensations. Whether certain foods, animal hair, or pollen – many factors can play a role here and influence personal balance.²

Consider connections consciously

Eating habits

Possible influencing factors:

  • Hasty meal
  • High sugar and salt consumption
  • Processed foods

A one-sided and unbalanced diet can affect the supply of micronutrients and may be associated with an increased risk of food intolerances.

Good to know

  • Slow, conscious eating
  • Fresh, natural foods
  • Diverse, balanced diet

A conscious and balanced diet contributes to a good supply of micronutrients and can support the overall nutritional balance.

Lifestyle

Possible influencing factors

  • Lack of sleep
  • Irregular daily routines
  • Little time outdoors

An irregular lifestyle can affect individual micronutrient needs and may be associated with digestive difficulties and intolerances.

Good to know

  • Regulated daily routine
  • Sufficient sleep
  • Exercise in fresh air

A conscious lifestyle contributes to the maintenance of the micronutrient balance and can contribute to a general everyday feeling in the context of nutrition.

Stress

Possible influencing factors

  • Stress load
  • Little time for recovery

Long-lasting stress can affect individual micronutrient needs and may be associated with altered perceptions of certain foods or substances.

Good to know

  • Regular relaxation phases
  • Stress-reducing activities such as yoga or meditation

Targeted stress reduction can help maintain a balance in micronutrient supply and potentially positively influence the general handling of foods and substances.

Environmental influences

Possible influencing factors

  • Contact with pollutants
  • Environmental pollution
Environmental pollution may potentially influence your individual micronutrient needs and, in our experience, is often associated with personal sensitivities to certain substances.

Good to know

  • Conscious handling of products and environment
  • Use of natural, pollutant-free products

A conscious approach to environmental factors contributes to a balanced supply of micronutrients and can positively influence the handling of certain foods or substances.

Exercise

Possible influencing factors

  • Lack of exercise
  • Extreme physical stress without sufficient recovery

Too little or excessive exercise can affect the supply of micronutrients and individual micronutrient needs, and may be associated with digestive problems.

Good to know

  • Regular moderate exercise
  • Balance between activity and rest phases

Regular exercise can contribute to a balanced supply of micronutrients and support the body’s natural functions.

Genetics Age

Possible influencing factors

  • Genetic predispositions
  • Changes with age

Individual predispositions and aging processes can affect micronutrient balance and may be related to the development of intolerances.

Good to know

  • Individual nutrition according to personal needs
  • Regular review and adjustment of diet

An individual approach can help adapt micronutrient supply to personal needs and consider natural body functions.

Frequently Asked Questions

A food intolerance occurs when certain foods or ingredients can only be processed to a limited extent by the body. Unlike an allergy, the immune system is hardly or not at all involved. Often, genetic or metabolic factors influence the personal tolerance profile and determine which diet works well individually.

People often report an uneasy stomach feeling or a queasy sensation after consuming certain foods. Such reactions can occur several hours later and are often not always clearly attributable. However, mindful self-observation can provide valuable insights into which foods are particularly well-tolerated individually.

With food sensitivities (intolerances), the body reacts more sensitively than usual to certain foods. Common examples are sensitivities to lactose, gluten, or various additives. Typical signs can include an uneasy stomach feeling, bloating, or a queasy sensation that occurs a few hours after consumption and often cannot be directly attributed.

Micronutrients perform various tasks in the body and can support processes such as energy metabolism and the body’s own defense system. Since many of these essential substances are not produced independently, it is recommended to ensure a varied diet with sufficient vitamins and minerals. This can help strengthen personal well-being and promote a balanced body sensation.

Micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals are required by the body in small amounts – they perform numerous supportive functions in metabolism. Macronutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, and proteins provide energy and are important building blocks for tissues and body structures.
